Last week I discovered that programming isn’t that difficult. I never went further with code than copy/pasting it, but it’s easy to do more without having to read a boring DIY programming book. The only motivation I needed was an e-mail from Ernst-Jan, who always helps me out when it comes to code. He was too busy this time and told me to give it a try myself and ask him for help when I ran into problems. I never had to e-mail him.

Truth is that if you take a free Wordpress theme as a start (I used Viewport) and edit it a bit, you’re already halfway. Installing plugins is the easiest thing in the world and editing your code is easy in the admin panel of your blog. In the end I only needed the following tools:

- Adobe Photoshop CS3 for buttons and backgrounds
- FireFTP to login to my FTP server
- FireBug to get some bugs out

Well, you can see what I made from it. Hope you like it, and please let me know if you think I should change some things.

That’s all, want more like this?
